The fall schedule is up! The first zine is out! Webcasting is back up! WBOR loves you!

» October 1, 2004

Webcasting has been intermittent for the last 24 hours. It broke and we fixed it and now it has now broken again. It seems to be a server-side problem. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

» September 20, 2004

Programming has started. Tune in! A schedule will be available as soon as it has been finalized.

» September 7, 2004

The meeting has been pushed back a week due to a comedy of errors. It sucks. We know. Regardless, the meeting is the same place, same time on Thursday September 16th.

Welcome to the newest (and hopefully last, for a while) incarnation of the WBOR website. Questions, comments, and suggestions can be sent to the webmaster.

If you're interested in becoming a DJ for this fall, the information and application session will be on Thursday, September 9th in Kresge Auditorium, basement of the VAC. If you can't make it please contact Eric Worthing.

So I still haven't gotten the navigation bar up. Sue me; I'm a terrible (and slow) webmaster. in the meantime, use the links on the left.

In other news, Summer programming began this week under the direction of Bill Morse. WBOR will be on air from mid-afternoon (between 2 and 5 PM) tomidnight daily, for the duration of the summer.

Also, we would like to thank Steve, Hari, Andrew, and Noelle for all their work at the station. They are all graduating next week and will be sorely missed at WBOR.

Congratulations to our new managers: Lucy Orloski, Karina van Schaardenburg, and Adam Paltrineri, as well as our new Zine manager and developers: Cory Ferguson, Ted Power, and Alice Lee.

May 4, 2004

Sorry for the delay, but since last there was an update the following events have transpired:

  • The webcasting problems were resolved.
  • We threw a great WBOR Hip Hop night
  • WBOR interviewed John Vanderslice and The Slats
  • WBOR T-shirts became available for sale. Contact a manager if you would like one.

Also, next week is the last for Spring programming. Summer programming details will be available as soon as the dates are decided.

March 5, 2004

Off-campus webcasting is still down. We are very sorry and working as hard as we can to get it back up.

Charts are now available here. We will be archiving all of WBOR's new charts.

March 2, 2004

The Rainer Maria show went quite well, until caithlin's (lead singer) coat went missing. Luckily the situation was soon resolved and we can look back at another successful WBOR night.

The List Exists show was equally amazing. if you missed them, their new EP is the station, call in and request a song. Or at least check out their website.

The webcasting server has been having some troubles, so webcasting is unavailable off campus currently. We are aware of the problem and are working to fix it. NOC (Bowdoin's Networks & Operations Center) assures me that it will be back up later today. We are very sorry for the inconvenience.

The spring schedule is available in document form here. A more readable html version will be up shortly.

February 21, 2004

If you missed the OK Go & Exchange Students show last night, you missed a great time. Make it up to yourself by coming to Rainer Maria this next Thursday (2/26/04).

Also, I said I would get the schedule up today. Matt is still making the print schedule, so I can't. I'm very sorry. I'll put it up on Tuesday (2/24/04). But to satiate your appetite for online goodness, here is the new Links page.

February 17, 2004

Welcome to WBOR's new website. It is quite obviously still a work in progress. Here is a timeline as to when everything will be done.

  • 2/17/04 - The skeleton of the new site. Includes the following sections: News, Contact Information, and Events pages.
  • 2/21/04 - The Spring schedule. (Yay!)
  • 2/24/04 - The following sections will be added: Charts, About WBOR, and Links. From this date henceforth Charts for the preceding week will be updated regularly on Wedneday. They will be archived and the charts for any week will be available.
  • 3/2/04 - The Webcasting section, with all you would ever want to know and more about webcasting.
  • 3/9/04 - The Navigation bar and site header.
  • ?/?/?? - Eventually a private section for DJ's will be added. Also I will be tweaking everything and making improvements over the course of the semester. Questions, comments, and suggestions are welcome. E-mail me at mort@bowdoin.edu. (But be warned, I recieve between 25 and 40 e-mails a day, most to which I have to respond. So do not expect the quickest of service.)

In the meantime, here are the important things:

All of the Contact Information for the station is here.
Our upcoming events can be viewed here.
And you can listen to current programming via webcasting here.
