Resources for Bowdoin Students

Members of the Bowdoin community may wish to use the following services for consultation and/or support in an instance of sexual assault or harassment. Survivors are urged to seek emotional and medical support and professional assistance in the aftermath of an assault, either in the community or on campus.

During the school year, a college physician, counselor-on-call and dean-on-call are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to assist Bowdoin students. Call Security at x3314 or x3500 and ask to speak to a counselor-on-call or dean-on-call; you do not need to specify what you need to speak to them about, and contacting them does not oblige you to make a report with the police. Please see the confidentiality section for further information about the roles of doctors, counselors and deans.* SASSMM (below) has a 24 hour confidential hotline and can send a trained advocate to join you at a local hospital examination.
