Timeline

Year One:
1) Partnership with the Brunswick Land Trust and fellow organic farmer Seth Kroeck.
2) Plant 1/2 acre of land with a mix of vegetables and herbs.
3) Two to four student interns over the summer of 2004, who will be responsible managing the garden and training interns for the following year.
4) Donate produce to local soup kitchen.
5) Supply food to dining services at market value.

Year Five:
1) Use garden as a resource for learning opportunities through the Biology, Geology and Environmental Studies departments.
2) Increase number of Bowdoin students involved in the garden project.
3) Create paid jobs under dining services that involve working in the garden.
4) Continue to be financially self sufficient, covering costs of seeds, supplies, upkeep and other capital.
5) Become a learning resource for the Upward Bound project.
6) Increase variety and quantity of food provided to Dining Services and the local soup kitchen.

Year Ten:
1) Increase the size of the farm, expanding the amount of land we plant on and the types of crops.
2) Become a permanent part of the Bowdoin community and a valuable asset to both the food services and academic experience of the students.
3) Become a valuable part of the Brunswick community through the Midcoast Hunger Prevention Program, educational programs and outreach donations.
