Fist of all, I did not say that I could not sucessfully express myself in English nor did I make any remarks that were anti-American. I am well aware of our geographic isolation: I live on an island and understand geographic isolation completely. Ever herd the phrase "think globally, act locally"? Despite our geographic isolation, being able to communicate with others--no matter what language they speak-- is an important part of "thinking globally". In your argument you did not successfully negate America's or the English language's oppressiveness. Everyone across the globe speaking English is not a wonderful example of global culture, nor is it a miracle of foreign relations. It is an example of a homonginization of rich culture. If you want to be a cookie cutter girl, that's fine by me. Just don't expect me to follow all the other lemmings who jump of the bridge.
