Hi everyone. I hope you're all having a good summer.
The reason why I am writing is that I am kind of concerned that AD/Howell will turn into a sterile looking college house with little office-like gray plaques on the doors and bathrooms with braille underneath whatever the plaques say. I can see the beautiful living room of AD/Howell turning into a hospital lobby with generic furniture and a bricked-in fireplace.
I spent a lot of time in AD last year and I really loved the atmosphere there. It felt like a house... an actual home. I don't know if we can do anything to prevent the dorm-ification of our house, but I thought that if any of you agree with me, and want to keep AD looking alot like it has in the past, that maybe we could all get together and send a little note to Bob Graves telling him how we feel. I don't think its too late. As far as I know they only have had time to do some minor renovations this summer.
If any of you feel the same way I feel about this, please respond. Maybe we can do something to prevent our new house from looking and feeling like a sterile hospital. I'm really looking forward to spending time with all of you in our new house, regardless of what it looks like inside. I know we'll have lots of great times in our new home.
