Howell House Minutes, 11/04/01
Hey everybody...notes from the night of November 4th.
Recap:
-
A week of Howelleen, some of which was utterly fabulous, some of which
didn't get the attendance hoped for...highlights included pumpkin carving,
the Salem trip, Dunkin' for Dookies, the midweek, and the Rocky Horror
Picture Show...
Upcoming:
-
First-years will meet with their advisors in Howell TODAY at 4 p.m. to
discuss course selection.
-
We're hosting another Am party this weekend, coinciding with the November
invitational which is expected to bring about 130 people to campus. Fuyumi's
masterminding our end, so it should be fabulous as usual.
-
TODAY (again!) Hank Rogerson is coming to Howell for dinner to discuss
his documentary, which will be shown at 7:30 in Searles 315.
-
Bowling happens this Friday (that's tomorrow, for those as out of sync
as I am). Questions? Don't know if you signed up? Email Lauren: ldarniel@
-
The Polar Jazz Band is coming to Howell next Saturday, the 17th, around
8 pm...more details as that approaches.
-
The upperclass-oriented wine and cheese party (at Burnett) is a go. We'll
let you know when.
-
Colin's organised a van for the BareNakedLadies concert, and is looking
into taking a group to see the Blue Man Group.
-
Fundraising ideas include a Christmas scheme, where people buy ornaments
to decorate some renowned icon like Todd's car, or the House; and a flower
scheme where your anonymously (or not) sent flower nets a dollar or so
for the campaign.
-
Possible Harrison Ford movie marathon coming up on the 15th-more from his
devotees as that approaches.
-
Emily's looking into doing a video game tournament: let her know your suggestions
if you're passionately interested (eduffus@)
Treasurer's report:
-
We have $1060.77 left, which means we spent about $170 in the week before
the meeting.
