Howell House Minutes, 10/28/01
Recaps.
-
Both of the latest midweeks were great: the smoothies were fabulous and
plentiful, and Hyde very graciously hosted last night's Reverse Midweek
in full costume. Special notice to the tea settings and Monty Python skit,
and Matt P. and Lauren.
-
The HOUSE SPIRIT contest and the rest of the Homecoming events were at
best weakly attended by our affiliates; thanks to those who came and cheered.
We did actually get a chair together this year...credit to the committee
and Phil.
-
Hugging the toilet: Dunkin' for Dookies and apple bobbing were fun (to
watch); Craig stands as the undisputed champion (and on his birthday!...)
of the Baby Ruth Rescue Dive. Hopefully everyone's recovered from the Mountain
Dew burns by now.
Treasury.
-
We have $190 less than we did at this point last year, with a total of
$1232.85 to get us through the rest of the semester.
Upcoming.
-
TONIGHT: The Rocky Horror Picture Show (with audience participation).
Be there with bells on!
-
TOMORROW: Howell's first costume ball! Faculty/staff reception at
8; party from 9-whenever. Costume contest at 11. Bring your favorite professor!
Costumes a must.
-
The first-year floor reps brought up some notions, including helping out
at the Ronald McDonald House and possible trips to Boston and/or the Portland
Promenade...more as that develops.
-
Next Thursday we're having a dinner jointly with the Film Society, which
Colin will enlighten you about further when he sends out an email inviting
people to sign up.
-
Notes 'n' Folks- Professor Brian Linton of Orgo fame is tentatively scheduled
to come play (guitar) for us next Thursday.
-
The Houses are all hosting talks on study away programs; Howell's will
be on the UK on November 7th, 9:30.
-
Junior and senior affiliates! Any ideas on house activities just for your
classes? Bring them to the meeting this Sunday at 9.
Questions, comments and haiku always welcomed...See you Sunday.
