Howell House Minutes, 10/21/01
Hi everybody...notes from the House meeting Sunday night.
Recaps.
-
Mmmsugah: "The Diabetic's Nightmare" midweek went off well, thanks to the
untiring efforts of Phil and Chrissy...
-
Professor (Franco, Yarbrough and Morgan) dinner: Slight food shortages,
but no partisan warfare (so I hear) and some lively conversation. Thanks
to Colin for putting it together.
-
The first Notes 'n' Folks of the year went off with a healthy attendance.
Scott Sehon's playing was wonderful, and the audience much appreciated.
-
Fuyumi's fabulous planning came through with the best party I've seen at
Howell...EVER...bravo, Ms. Sato, and everyone who helped out or came over.
Upcoming:
-
No house dinner this week, but on the 1st on November we'll be cohosting
Hank Rogerson of documentary film fame with the Film Society. This looks
to be really exellent; watch for Le Croy details as it develops.
-
Aaaannd: no Notes 'n' Folks tomorrow, but on either Nov. 1st or the 8th
we hope to have famed orgo professor Brian Linton playing guitar..again,
watch for developments.
-
HOWELLEEN on the horizon. You should've gotten those schedules on your
S.U. boxes; the fun starts on Friday with an affiliate sleepover after
the House Spirit contest. Questions? Contact Ana (aconboy).
-
On that note, there'll be a pie eating contest as part of the dignified
Homecoming festivities- whipped cream and gummy worm pie, that is, with
no hands. Email Claire (cblack) for details.
-
We're also building a chair on Friday to either win the competition or
throw on the bonfire... if you'd like to be in on the fun, let Phil (psharp)
know. Meeting tonight in Howell at nine for those interested.
-
Our very own debate team, headed by Ali Rau, will be crushing the competition
this Saturday in Sills...go watch the Colby kids cry all the way home.
Treasurer's report:
-
We've decided to put aside $3500 of the House budget for next semester.
With that in mind, we have $1320.30 for the rest of this semester's activities.
If anyone has Howell-related events that they'd like to see on next month's
calendar, let me know by Tuesday the 30th. Thanks-
-Lela
one correction
Hank Rogerson will be coming to campus on November 8th, not the 1st
(thanks, Colin).
