Howell House Minutes, 9/23/01
Recapped:
-
'Marble poundcake' is a loaded term in Howell these days, but the midweek
was delicious and whipped-creamy (see note on orgo, above).
-
Common Ground Fair- for those of you who deigned not to attend, it was
fabulous- pea soup, peacocks, Colby harassment, and...alpacas. Rural and
ovine: two of my favorite adjectives.
-
Common Good- Claire likes it! So did most people, from the looks of it,
although the turnout was less than incredible.
-
Movie Marathon- the movies were Mall Rats, Memento, and Mystery Men. Nick
claims coincidence. Another one's in the works, since this one only ran
until what, four a.m.?
Upcoming:
-
First Professor Dinner of the year- tomorrow at Howell. If you didn't sign
up for this one, come to next week's meeting....
-
Counting Crows, October 11th. So far 5-6 people have signed up.
In the works:
-
Dance party with the AM, hopefully over the weekend of October 19-21.
-
...which is the same weekend as the tentatively scheduled scavenger hunt-
more on that as it surfaces, but we need cold cash to make this work, so
hit up your class treasurers when you see them.
-
How do people feel about having a rickshaw contest over Homecoming, maybe
instead of a chair-building contest?
Treasurer's note:
We have $5217.29.
Since that looks so lonely by itself, I'd like to include some lines
from my favourite mathematician:
And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood
And burbled as it came!
Thank you.
