Howell House Meeting 4/8/01

A. Recaps:
--Southern style midweek (Lynn): good, yummy grits
--Pres Ed Dinner (Justin): wierd, like "Pres Ed Unplugged", nostalgic, Pres Ed's senioritis
--Notes N Folks with Janet Lynch (Kid): awesome awesome
--13 people came to Star Trek this week, a new record!
--Animal Shelter (Emily): big group this week
B. Committee Reports
--Howellwood Squares (Quinn): we are putting up scaffolding, facilities is supervising, should be impressive, the scaffolding is coming Friday at 3pm--Quinn would love people to help put up and take down; the committee is going over contestants
--Notes N Folks (Kid): David Collings and Kidder Smith are coming this Friday at 3:30pm and we are going to have the yummy sandwiches again :-)  Come over and dance with them.
        --FYI: Tenley has 74 glow sticks
--Formal Dance (Lynn): April 27th--formed a theme committee, e-mail Lynn if youhave ideas (cfurick); she could also use help preparing food on the day, and would be happy if someone with a car would help her get food too.
C. This week's Professor Dinner (Justin)
--this thursday at 5:30pm , Prof Teegarden.  we'll be grilling steaks and chicken outside, there will be vegetarian options too.
D. Treasurer's Report (Liz):
 --we have $1161.11 with bowling and stuff
--need to talk about board games money
E. Programming Chairs' report
--Quinn: this midweek is chocolate covered gummi bears
--same upcoming events, especially Todd's event... :-)
--new midweeks: April 18th, Liz, Christine
F. Scavenger Hunt (Brendan):
--Grand prize will be a 3 day cruise on Scotia Prince
--would like $600 from house, getting $100 from Res Life
--cost includes limo to portland, spending cash, box dinners
--Event is weekend of April 20th--36 hours
--Prize is weekend of May 4th
--there will be a snazy website where you can sign up on line
--proposal to spend $600, motion passes unamiously
Open Forum:
--Jill: wants to have a senior class reception for those graduating
--what's up with the books? They are on order, see list below...
--Phil: the insignia project is gone
--Claire: Habitat for Humanity walk April 29th
--Quinn: Quad sale during reading period for Bowdoin Build
    --Brendan, Christine, Tenley, Emily will help
--Justin: Bill Gardner asked if the town can use our house during the morning of the 2nd day of exams to talk about Felix Burt who designed the building
--Owen: ASA is having a coffee house at our house next sunday after the meeting
