Howell House Meeting 2/18/01

meeting called to order at 8:04pm
1. Recaps:
--Lots of people showed up for the midweek
--About 15 people went snow tubing and had a blast
--Poor showing from all houses at Inter House bowling
--Semi-formal dance on Fri went great, a lot of people came and stayed a while
--Animal Shelter: probably only friday's now, try to have people from howell paint
--Prof McMahon dinner went well, she stayed at the house til 8:30pm
--Bad Movie night had a fair showing
--Wed night TV was fine, again next week
2. Programming Chairs report
--Michael Kelsey coming on March 1st in the pub
--Prof tea sometime soon with orgo profs
--Notes N' Folks--1st installment (Kid), Fri 23rd 3:30pm at Howell
--Aurelia wants to throw a dance a thon on fri 23rd, Em, Christine, Liz, Stacy will help
--Ski trip this Sunday (Katie)- 15 people are going
--Feb 24th-Scrabble tournament (Brian)
--Quinn still working on Melon $ for Les Mis
--Proposal for allocating $1000 of remaining funds to HowellWood Squares, motion passes unanimously with 21 votes, Union is already reserved for 4-13-01, still need to seek more money from other groups
3. Treasurer's Report:
$3,152.42, plus max of $415 to MK, and $1000 just allocated to HW Squares

--not much to report, leave off agenda til further notice
5. Committee reports
--Prof dinner: Prof MacEachern is coming this week, come for dinner and stay for a talk and dessert
--semi-formal dance: Lynn has talked to Prog Chairs, but no new news, hopefully we will be able to vote on a $ figure next meeting

--APPLY!! Apps are due to Res Life on Wed!
7. Proctorial Minute
--awesome that so many people applying, echoed encouragement

--Justin M. reminder about bowling for kids, we approved $200, but can still help by getting sponsors too
--Contradance progress: Jill will talk with Trevor and Ainsley for update on that
