Howell House Minutes, 1/27/02
Treasurer's report:
-
This was the most interesting part of the meeting, I think: we have two
possible budget totals. If the Mellon Grant pays for our holiday dinner
(as it ought), and Res Life foots the bill for a charge from last year's
scavenger hunt prize, we should have $3513.82 for the rest of the year..
Otherwise, it's $2787.42. Fingers crossed.
-
Upcoming:
-
This Sunday, our meeting will probably be before dinner, but in any case
before the ruckus begins; watch out for that and the Superbowl party, featuring-
you guessed it- haystacks!
-
The House Info Week is upon us, from the 4th through the 9th of February.
Events include: an info session at Hyde, a possible snowtubing trip, a
professor dinner at the House on the 6th, the customary midweek, and more
to be announced following their invention.
-
The Inter-House Olympics are Saturday the 9th as well, featuring ice skating
on the quad, and scads of other winter delights- look for more details
on entering as that approaches.
-
We're hosting a campus-wide kareoke night here on the 15th.
-
On the 16th- which is Bowdoin Ski Day- Howell's taking a group of affiliates
skiing- we need at least 20 people with us, so email Todd if you're interested
(tjohnsto).
-
February 26th is Howell's night at "Your Restaurant"- Ladd invites other
Houses over and cooks dinner for them- just like a restaurant, see?
-
Plans are in the works for a trip down to a Blue Man Group performance
after winter sports have ended
-
THE SCAVENGER HUNT is on for the weekend of April 12-13; more details as
that draws near, but it's a 36-hour campus-wide event open to teams of
four; the possible prize this year is a trip to Miami.
-
THE GAME SHOW is also on; it sounds like a remake of "The Weakest Link"
is a possibility.
