Msgr. Charles Murphy will present on

"Catholic Social Teaching: The Challenge of Christian Citizenship and Discipleship"

[Former Rector of the NorthAmerican College, Vatican City, Msgr. Murphy is the author of several books including At Home on Earth: Foundations for a Catholic Ethic of the Environment (New York: Crossroad, 1989) and Wallace Stevens: A Spiritual Poet in a Secular Age (Mahwah, NJ: Paulist Press, 1997). He received his Doctorate in Theology from the Gregorian University in Rome.]

will speak on
"Politics and the Catholic Conscience"
at St. Charles Borromeo Church

and Monday, at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 29th.

David O'Brien, a noted professor of history and Loyola Professor of Catholic Studies, Emeritus, at College of the Holy Cross, writes on the history of American Catholicism and on current issues in church and society.   He has served as president of the American Catholic Historical association and on the boards of the National Catholic Reporter, the Voice of the Faithful, and Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good.

A reception, with refreshments, will take place immediately after the lecture on Sunday evening.   Please join us for this exciting opportunity before we make our voice known with our vote in the November Presidential election.
