The Student Activities Funding Committee consists of the four class Treasurers, two appointed members, the VP for Student Organizations, and the BSG Treasurer. Besides the BSG Treasurer and VP for Student Organizations, SAFC members do not sit on the BSG Assembly.

Info: I’m a member of the 2011 class and have served as my class’s treasurer and on the SAFC for the past two years. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the campus’s many club leaders, and I’ve enjoyed helping these clubs financially to support students’ great ideas. You’ll probably see me around campus doing various things with the McKeen Center, working at the information desk, working out at the Buck Center, tutoring for chemistry, or floating around the Moore Hall dormitory as a proctor. Please don’t ever hesitate to contact me, if you have any questions about the SAFC or if you have any suggestions for the SAFC process. We changed many things this year to make the funding process less intimidating and more transparent, but I know there is always room to improve. My hope is that you will never hesitate to contact me with any critiques or suggestions on how we can improve our service to the student body.

Info: Hi, my name is Francis Huynh, the senior class treasurer. I have served as class officer and a member of the SAFC since freshman year. In addition, I am an economics tutor, a sprinter on the track team and love to play IM sports. The SAFC has developed a good reputation with organizations and we hope to continue the trend this year. Info: Hey everyone, I’m Gayle and I am the treasurer of the Junior Class. This is my first year serving on SAFC and I am very excited and ready for the challenge! I am really loving my time serving on SAFC because it’s fun hearing about all the great events Bowdoin’s student organizations are planning before anyone else knows. Besides SAFC you might see me in the library or the C-store where I work, at an Af-Am party since I live in the Russwurm house or even on BCN since I was in “Speak About It”. I really love to laugh and enjoy corny jokes and cheesy reality shows. If you see me on campus feel free to tell me a joke or just say hey girl hey!

Info: Hi everyone, I'm the sophomore class treasurer with an intense passion for beaches, music and helping people. I love being on the SAFC because of you..yes YOU. Coming to Bowdoin and being around so many brilliant people with awesome ideas has been fantastic. I get to learn about the events of different clubs and also help these clubs financially to to make these ideas come to life. Outside the SAFC you can find me at the Common Good Grant Committee, Safe Space, Pickard Theatre, the McKeen Center, writing essays in Smith Union or laughing very loudly. Feel free to contact me anytime about any questions you have about the SAFC and our process. We've made the process less hectic and more transparent but feel free to give us feedback. I love meeting new people and I'm up for an adventure so stop me if you need me just yell Naija boy...or attempt pronouncing my last name-both have proved to be great conversation starters.

Info: As a freshman, I consider myself lucky to have the chance to represent my classmates on the SAFC. I think it’s a privilege to have a role in helping make Bowdoin an even more amazing school. You’ll likely see me around campus playing JV soccer, writing for The Orient, riding by bike, or just being tall (I’m 6’6’’). I love to meet new people, especially those from Bowdoin, so please do not hesitate to ask me any questions, or just say hello!

Info: I’m a first-year from Miami, Florida and I’m pretty much still getting my bearings around campus. So far, I’ve loved my work on the SAFC because it allows me to know what’s going on around Bowdoin and then I get to try out new clubs and events because of that knowledge. Besides the SAFC meetings, you will probably see me at any eating-oriented event (I love food), any dancing event especially parties at Russworm, random government lectures, a capella concerts, my dorm (Winthrop), and my social house (Burnett). Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about the SAFC. The guidelines have changed and although we’ve tried to simplify the process, I know that budgets can get a little complex. So just shoot me an email or stop me around campus if you ever need anything. Also, any suggestions about things to change in the future are more than welcome. I hope to keep working on the SAFC in years to come and would love to hear any constructive criticism or just random thoughts.
